In a remote part of Eastern Washington overlooking a bend in the Columbia River is rarely visited rocky overlook. The view is spectacular but the trek itself is also memorable. Explorers must hike over unmarked trail through featureless ranchland for several hours before being rewarded with a perch 200 meters above the river. Along the way are a few oddities such as a smashed car, sun bleached cattle skeletons, and granite erratics.
Encountering the rusted and forgotten car yields one question. Resting far from any paved road or even unpaved track it’s placement in the landscape is peculiar. The surrounding terrain is rough enough to prohibit anything but off-road vehicles to traverse. How did it get there?
